Partnerships A Key to Success in Timber Frame Construction

By Ashley Howieson

In my experience working in the timber frame industry, strong partnerships are key to achieving success. One of the things I’ve noticed during my time at Deeside Timberframe is how firmly aligned I am with the brand’s ethos that partnerships are the cornerstone of delivering exceptional timber frame projects. Whether it’s working closely with clients or collaborating with suppliers, building strong, trusted relationships makes all the difference in ensuring projects run smoothly and deliver outstanding results.

Building Long-Term Relationships

For me, the most rewarding part of my role is building long-term relationships with clients. These connections are built on trust, communication, and a shared goal of delivering quality projects. By truly understanding a client’s unique needs and challenges, we can tailor solutions that not only meet their specifications but also exceed their expectations.

It’s equally exciting to work with new clients and establish those all-important foundations. From the very first meeting, my focus is on fostering open, honest communication to ensure they feel supported and confident at every stage of the project. I’ve found that this collaborative approach often leads to clients returning to us for future projects—a true testament to the strength of these partnerships.

Early Engagement: Adding Value from the Start

One of the most impactful ways we can help clients is by getting involved early in their project journey. At Deeside Timberframe, we encourage early engagement at the pre-tender or tender stage. This is where we can bring the most value by recommending alternative designs, build methods, or specifications that fit their requirements and budget while also improving the overall build programme.

For example, when we’re involved early, we can suggest ways to optimise energy efficiency, reduce costs, or streamline construction timelines. These early conversations often prevent challenges later down the line and ensure the project stays on track.

Collaboration with Suppliers

Another key element of successful projects is the relationships we have with our suppliers. Over the years, I’ve seen how important it is to work with trusted suppliers who share our commitment to quality, sustainability, and reliability. These partnerships allow us to deliver superior materials to our clients while staying ahead of industry innovations.

One of the things I love most about working at Deeside Timberframe is how much value we place on collaboration. Whether it’s with suppliers or clients, our shared focus on achieving the best outcomes ensures that every project we deliver is of the highest standard.

A Partnership Built for Success

To me, partnerships are about more than just contracts—they’re about people. They’re about trust, respect, and working together to achieve shared goals. At Deeside Timberframe, we don’t just talk about partnerships; we live them in every project we take on.
