Deeside Timberframe Poised to Support Housing Demand Across Scotland and NW England

In response to the Labour Government’s ambitious pledge to deliver 1.5 million homes over the next five years, Deeside Timberframe is uniquely positioned to meet the rising demand for sustainable and efficient housing solutions across Scotland and Northwest England. The Structural Timber Association (STA) has emphasised the need for a shift towards offsite timber frame construction to achieve these targets, and Deeside Timberframe is ready to play a pivotal role in this transformation.

The recent statement from the STA highlights the necessity of adopting sustainable building technologies, particularly offsite timber frame construction, to meet both housing and net-zero obligations. As the STA’s Chief Executive Officer, Andrew Carpenter, stated, “The structural timber industry has the capacity and capability to support the new Government in building 300,000 homes a year.” This shift will require clear, actionable policies that prioritise Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) and carbon reduction.

Deeside Timberframe, with its extensive experience and capacity in offsite manufacturing, is well-equipped to support the Government’s housing targets. Our advanced manufacturing facilities and expertise in delivering high-quality, sustainable timber frame systems position us as a key partner in achieving these ambitious goals. By focusing on precision-engineered, pre-fabricated timber frames, we can help reduce construction times, improve building quality, and support the Government’s commitment to environmental sustainability.

With manufacturing centres in Scotland, which serve the whole of Scotland and Northwest England, Deeside Timberframe is well positioned to continue collaborating with developers and local authorities to deliver the 100,000 homes per annum that the STA believes is achievable through timber frame construction.

David Crawford, Managing Director of Deeside Timberframe commented: “Our commitment to innovation and sustainability aligns perfectly with the Government’s housing agenda, and we are ready to contribute to the development of modern, energy-efficient homes that meet the needs of today’s communities.”
